Day 5 - Working Out Your Salvation

May 1, 2026

"Work out your salvation with fear and trembling" doesn't mean earning salvation—it means actively living out what God has worked in you. Faith without corresponding action is dead. The marks of a true Christian—love, hospitality, purity, contentment—don't appear automatically. They require intentional cooperation with the Holy Spirit. You don't get to negotiate terms with Scripture or pick which commands suit your lifestyle. God's Word stands unchanging regardless of cultural shifts. Working out salvation means humbly approaching God and saying, "I'm not what I need to be. Help me become that." It's in denying ourselves, taking up our cross, and following Jesus that we find true freedom. The blessing isn't prosperity but peace, joy, and confidence walking in obedience to His Word.

Reflection Questions

1. What area of your life needs realignment with Scripture? What's your first step toward obedience?

2. What does it mean to 'work out your salvation with fear and trembling' without falling into either legalism or cheap grace?
