Day 1 - The Foundation of Brotherly Love

Jesus declared that the world would recognize His disciples by their love for one another. This isn't the world's conditional love that protects self-interest, but the sacrificial love modeled by Christ. Brotherly love requires intentionality—it doesn't happen naturally in our fallen state. The Holy Spirit empowers us, but we must put our hands to the plow. Today, consider where you're holding back love because of personal comfort or past hurts. True Christian love isn't about tolerating others, it's about genuinely caring for their wellbeing above our own. This love becomes the umbrella covering every other mark of genuine faith. When we love this way, we reflect the Father who first loved us.
