Day 2 - Hospitality and Visiting the Imprisoned
Jesus makes a startling statement: how we treat "the least of these" reveals whether we truly know Him. Hospitality extends beyond hosting dinner parties—it's showing compassion and kindness to those society overlooks. Visiting the imprisoned includes those trapped in mental, emotional, and spiritual prisons, not just physical ones. These actions aren't done to earn salvation but flow from hearts transformed by Christ. Notice that those welcomed into heaven were surprised—they served without seeking recognition or reward. Their hearts were simply attuned to needs around them because Jesus lived within them. The posture of your heart matters more than the action itself, but the action remains the evidence Jesus uses to identify His own.
Reflection Questions
1. Who around you is imprisoned by loneliness, addiction, or shame? How can you bring Christ's light to them?
