Day 3 - The Honor of Marriage
Marriage requires separation from all other ties and cleaving wholly to your spouse—two becoming one flesh. This isn't merely cohabitation or partnership; it's a holy covenant before God. In our culture that has cheapened sexuality, God's standard remains unchanged: sexual intimacy is reserved exclusively for marriage between one man and one woman. This isn't restrictive legalism but protective design. Just as becoming a Christian requires separating from worldly identities to cleave to Christ, marriage demands complete commitment. For singles, this means practicing self-control and honoring God with your body. For the married, it means continual investment in your covenant relationship. God's boundaries aren't meant to limit joy but to maximize it within His perfect design.
Reflection Questions
1. How does your view of marriage and sexuality align with Scripture? What needs to change?
2. Why does God take sexual immorality so seriously according to Scripture, and how should this understanding shape our approach to relationships and purity?
