Day 4 - Contentment without Covetousness

Apr 30, 2026

Contentment is an act of trust that God is providing for your needs. In a culture obsessed with accumulation and comparison, Christians are called to radical contentment. We're among the wealthiest people globally, yet often the most discontent. We've equated busyness with godliness, constantly chasing the next achievement or experience. But Jesus regularly withdrew to pray, modeling rest and trust in the Father. Contentment doesn't depend on circumstances—it's tested most when resources are scarce and troubles abound. Godliness with contentment is great gain because it brings peace that surpasses understanding. When we stop coveting what others have and trust God's daily provision, we discover freedom from anxiety and the joy of His presence, regardless of our bank account.

Reflection Questions

1. What are you constantly wanting that keeps you from contentment? How can you practice gratitude today?

2. Take a moment to name five things you are thankful for this morning.
