Day 1 - The Servant's Identity
Oct 26, 2026
Who are you, really? Not your job title, your reputation, or your accomplishments — but at the core of your identity, who are you? James, a man who had every reason to boast of his earthly connection to Jesus, chose instead to introduce himself as a servant. The Greek word he uses, doulos, carries the weight of total devotion to a master. It is not a reluctant surrender but a chosen allegiance. The master we serve does not merely determine who we belong to — it determines who we become. Today, consider honestly which master is shaping your identity. Are your daily choices, your words, and your priorities reflecting the one you claim to serve?
In what area of your life do you most resist submitting to God as your master?
