Day 5 - The Father Who Runs

The prodigal son came to himself in a pigpen. That moment of clarity, when he recognized the distance between where he was and where he could be, was the turning point. What is remarkable is not only that the father welcomed him back, but that the father saw him while he was still far off and ran toward him. God does not wait with arms crossed. He runs. He restores. He celebrates. But the son could not receive any of that while he remained in the far country. Whatever time has been wasted, God is a redeemer of time. Come home. The father is already running toward you.
