James: Forged by Faith

Oct 25, 2026  •  Pastor William Parsons

What does it mean to truly walk out our faith, not just talk about it? That is the driving question at the heart of the book of James, and it is one that cuts straight to the core of how we live every single day. James is often called the Proverbs of the New Testament, and for good reason. Half of its 108 verses are direct commands, practical instructions for how we are to live as believers in the real world. This is not a book of abstract theology. It is a call to action. Drawing on the words of Jesus in Luke 5, where healing a paralyzed man served as observable proof of an invisible spiritual reality, we are challenged to ask ourselves whether our faith is something others can actually see. It is easy to say we believe. It is something else entirely to live in a way that reflects that belief. As we begin this journey through James together, we are invited to examine not just what we profess, but how we actually live, love, and treat one another. A faith that moves us is a faith that is truly alive.
