Day 5 - Be Hospitable and Remember the Prisoners
Jesus said, "I was in prison and you came to Me." Hospitality and compassion aren't just nice suggestions—they're marks of the unshakable kingdom. Whether visiting those literally imprisoned or those locked in mental, emotional, or spiritual prisons, you carry the key: Jesus. Hospitality includes welcoming strangers, visiting the sick, sharing meals, and moving toward others' pain. You may become the angel someone desperately needs. The Good Samaritan didn't walk by on the other side; he poured in oil and wine. Who needs you to pour in the healing presence of Jesus? Remember: "How shall they hear without a preacher? How shall they preach unless they are sent?" You are sent. Go forth with love, compassion, and the gospel.
Reflection Questions
1. Who is imprisoned (literally or figuratively) that God is calling you to visit or encourage this week?
2. How does the command to be hospitable extend beyond opening your home, and what are practical ways you can show hospitality to strangers or those in need this week?
