Day 4 - Love One Another - The Christian Calling Card
"By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." Above everything else—church attendance, spiritual gifts, theological knowledge—love for one another should be the mark that identifies you as a follower of Jesus. This isn't transactional love that keeps score; it's the agape love of Christ that "suffers long and is kind." Our natural love protects ourselves, keeps count, and gives up quickly. But Jesus calls us to love like He does: bearing all things, believing all things, hoping all things, enduring all things. This love doesn't come naturally—it requires surrender to the Holy Spirit. When you love the difficult person, show compassion to the annoying brother, you reflect Christ. Loving one another is not optional; it's the command.
Reflection Questions
1. Who is difficult for you to love, and how can you show them Christ's love this week?
2. If brotherly love is the primary calling card that should identify us as Christians, what would others say is the most identifying mark of your faith based on how you treat people?
