Day 4 - Repentance, Forgiveness, and the Road to Reconciliation

Hate is the seed of murder. Jesus made this plain in the Sermon on the Mount. When we allow offense to take root in our hearts and go unchecked, it grows from a whisper into a word and from a word into an action. The path out of that cycle begins with repentance from the offender and a willingness to forgive from the offended. Forgiveness does not erase consequences, but it does stop the seed of hatred from bearing its most destructive fruit. True repentance is demonstrated through changed thought and changed action, not merely a spoken apology. God calls us to pursue reconciliation because He pursued it with us.
