Day 2 - The Great Shepherd's Sacrifice
David killed a bear and a lion with nothing but a slingshot to protect his sheep. He put himself in mortal danger for animals far less valuable than himself. This is the heart of Jesus, our Great Shepherd. You and I are like sheep—prone to wander, unable to protect ourselves, often seeking things that harm us. Yet Jesus didn't protect us from a distance with superior weaponry; He entered the fight personally. He walked into death itself to rescue us. The true mark of a shepherd is loving the sheep enough to protect and provide for them even when they don't deserve it. That's Jesus with you—personally involved in your success, willing to lay down His life.
Reflection:
How does knowing Jesus personally fights for you change how you face today's challenges?
