Day 5 - No Other Gods

The first commandment is not simply about priority. It is about exclusivity. God does not ask to be first among many. He declares that there is no room in His presence for a rival -- not an idol made of stone, not an ambition made of pride, and not a self-enthroned will dressed in religious language. The greatest competitor for the throne of your heart is not the enemy. It is you. But this commandment is not issued by a tyrant. It is issued by the God who chose you, delivered you, and gave His Son for you. He asks for the throne not to diminish you, but because He alone is worthy of it - and He alone knows what to do with it.

Honestly assess your life this week. Who has had the final say in your decisions, your attitudes, and your relationships -- you or God?
