Day 2 - The Altar of Surrender
For thousands of years, humanity approached God through tangible altars—stone foundations where blood was spilled and substitution was made. Today, we have a better altar: Jesus Christ. But we still crave the tangible, the controllable, the experiential. We want goosebumps to confirm God's presence, tears to validate our worship. Yet true worship flows from a heart surrendered to Jesus' Lordship, not from manufactured emotions. Job worshiped in his darkest hour without a single goosebump, tearing his clothes in grief yet falling before God. When you come to the altar of Jesus, you're not coming to feel something—you're coming to surrender everything. That's where transformation begins.
Reflection:
What tangible experiences have you been substituting for genuine surrender to Jesus?
