Day 5 - Purifying Ourselves Through His Promises

Paul writes that because we have been given great and precious promises, we have both the reason and the responsibility to pursue purity. The motivation for holy living is not fear of punishment. It is the reality of what God has already done and what He has promised to do. When we fall, 1 John 1:9 reminds us that confession brings cleansing. God is not waiting to condemn us. He is waiting to restore us. The altar is always open. No matter what this week has looked like, no matter how far you have wandered in thought, in word, or in action, the faithful God who called you into fellowship with His Son has not moved. Come back to Him today.

Practical Application: If there is unconfessed sin in your life, bring it before God today in honest, specific prayer. Receive His forgiveness and ask Him to fill the space that sin occupied with a renewed sense of His faithfulness and presence.
